Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba relocated to Washington, D.C., after studying at Egypt’s Cairo American College, an international institution that emphasizes students’ development into global citizens. A graduate of Georgetown University, Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba holds a degree in International Relations. Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba also completed training at the Industrial College of the Armed Forces at the National Defense University.

Formerly, Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba served as Director of International Affairs in the Court of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi within his native United Arab Emirates (UAE). Throughout his successful tenure, Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba initiated a number of efforts to strengthen anti-terrorism, export control, and counter proliferation. Additionally, Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba improved trade relations between the UAE and other private sector, commercial, and government entities. In July 2008, Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba submitted his credentials to President George W. Bush and  formally assumed the role of diplomat to United States.

Honoring his numerous professional accomplishments, The National U.S.-Arab Chamber of Commerce recognized Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba as 2010 Ambassador of the Year. An asset to his nation, Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba has facilitated an emerging cultural relationship between the UAE and the U.S.
